round 2 of quote of the week

I had to add this.

I just made homemade chili and Landon doesn't like it.
I told him he could either take 7 bites or go to bed.
He took 2 and then said yay I did it.
He got down from the chair and I told him he could go finish his 7 bites or go to his room and go to bed.
He responds..

"What Mom? I can't hear you."
I stupidly repeat myself..
and he continues..
"WHat?? I can't hear you Mom. Sorry. Can't hear you."

Quote of the Week

Landon is a parrot.

He repeats everything he hears

and everything he sees.

He will say something and I won't know where he would come up with that,

and then I will hear it on Toy Story or something.

So, we now have to teach him that some words are mommy and daddy words and he is not allowed to say them.

Shut up is one of those words.

He knows he can't say that word.

He will even say

that a mommy word

not a bubba word.

So we were driving in the car

and I was on the phone...

umm on my headset of course...

and I said "Shut up, no way."

I can hear Landon in the backround saying stuff like

oooohh mommy said shut up.

Thats a bad word.

Shut up is not a bubba word.

I am ignoring him because I am on the phone.

Well we pull up to Chick-fil-a

not that it matters where we were going...

but I park the car and hang up the phone.

As soon as I say Bye Landon says,

"Mommy said SHUT.....

I swung my head around so fast and gave the mommy eyes..

... the door."

Haha.

I had to laugh.

So now he says that all the time.

He is so smart.

He likes to push boundaries to see how much he can get away with.

My 9 Month Munchkin

9 Months? Already?

My little troublemaker.. gets into everything
I can't believe in less than 3 months my baby will be 1.

How can that be?

It seems like I just held him for the first time.

Gavin is ALL done with testing and appointments.

Mama is all done with worrying and wishing and rude doctors.

Our baby boy is just small.

I could not be happier.
He is our Little Guy.
At 9 months:

Gavin is starting to talk...

Mama

Dada

Nanananana

Ah-goo

Ahhhhh

It is very exciting.

He loves to dance and clap to music.

He gets very proud of himself.

Has taken his first step.

LOVES to play with cars or trains and roll them while he crawls.

Still eats like a man.
Still only has his 2 bottom teeth

but can see a few more coming.

Is the easiest baby.

Loves to swing at the park.

Loves to go on bike rides.

Gives me kisses without me even asking.

Likes to wrestle his bro.

Eyes his bros juice cup and as soon as he puts it down Gavin is on it!

Can find his way throughout the house...

which means I can't even go pee without 2 little people in the bathroom with me.

He is so much fun.

Getting so tough.

His bros bullying hardly phases him now.

Does not like cabbage..

that is about the only food weve found so far.

Has the cutest smile.

Likes to bounce balls and chase them around as they bounce away.

Likes whole milk.

And water.

Still hasn't experienced stranger danger.

Pretty much loves anyone who will show him some love.

Is pretty independent for a baby.

Have never thought of selling or trading him.

Even though he might be the "bad guy" according to Landon.

He is still the most cutest, amazing, special baby boy.

Quote of the Week

Landon has some new Best Friends.

They aren't always a good influence on him.

They like to fight.

He likes to fight with them.

But..

This morning while the baby was napping I took a shower.

Landon ran in the room.

"MOM! Your coffee spilled!"

You spilled my coffee?

"No I didn't. Buzz Lightyear did."

So his new best friend likes to go around causing mayhem huh?

I'm not sure I'm gonna let him hang out with his new friends anymore.

What's next?

Is spiderman gonna eat my cookies too?

At least they take naps.

Momma needs a break.

Our script

Dear Landon,

Do you know how loved you are?
You asked me last night as I was putting you to bed.
"Mom do you love me?"
I said, "I love you soooooooo sooooooo sooooo much bubba."
"I love you so much too mom."
And you were out like a light.

You didn't have an ounce of doubt in your voice. You knew how much I love you. That was a special moment between us though. I can't explain it, but I know you felt it too. Love can't always, and may never be fully summed up by words. It is those feelings, like you laying in my arms, in the dark, knowing you are safe that capture the essence of love.

You are my first born. You exceeded my expectations. You never cease to amaze me. I know you are going to do great things in your life. This is just the beginning. And when you look back at this years from now, you will see the faith I had at you right now at 2 years old, that even goes back to the day you were born. You were and are and will always be perfect.

I hope that I never fail you. As a mother, as a friend and as a role model.

I want to write to you often, to your brother as well. So you can always come back to this, in times of doubt, struggle or when you just need a reminder of the great son you are.

I hoped for a boy. Your dad and I had the hardest time deciding on a name. If you were a girl it would have been Macey Jay Faucher.
But agreeing on a boys name was not as easy.
Landon.
It suits you so well. You would have lived up to any name you were given, but I think Landon is perfect. Masculine and cool, just like you. We (your dad may or may not agree with this), got it from Landon Donavan. One of the greatest soccer players. Your dad also had a friend named Landon and I always loved the name. It was not common when we decided on it for you, but I think that has changed.

Thank you for being you.
You are not afraid to be yourself.
You are fearless.
You are so funny.
You are so strong willed son. It is a challenge to us, but I want you to have your own opinion, stand up for yourself and not back down in life. I have no worries about that though.
You are so loved and make us proud to call you our son.

Love, your mommy

Quote of the Week

So I do this thing with Landon where like for example he will ask for juice and I will say, "ok, but i neeeeeed something first."

And he knows that just means I want a kiss.

So he gets a silly grin on his face and puckers up.

So the other day I told him.. "Landon, Mommy needs something veerrryyy special."

He replied, "God."

Do you ever get that feeling.....

You know,

when you see that person at the grocery store and you either know you know them or you know they look like someone
but cant figure out who.

It bothers you for days til you figure it out.

Well yeah that happened to me recently.

It finally hit me..

like an

"Oh DUH" moment...

Free Fun

I have so many photos on my phone I can hardly keep up with the blogging.

Pharoahs has easily become a family favorite.

The kids and I go there about twice a week without daddy and about twice a week with daddy.

Thats A LOT of Pharoahs.

A few friends of mine talked me into getting the season passes..

I kinda thought it would be a waste of money..

like I would only go once or twice..

but when I found out if I went twice I would already be paying less with the season pass Iwent for it.

And I am sooooo glad I did.

I even had a mommy/Landon date there just the two of us.

We had a Daddy, Mommy, Landon date there.

All the attention on Bubba.. and of course he loved it.

I have gone on a date with one of my bff's Juliene where we did the BIG waterslides we can't do when we take the kiddos.

But picture overload is of one of the many trips we took one night as a family.

The season pass is also good for mini golf, bumper boats and the jumpers.

It's the perfect after nap event.

Enjoy!

Oh and the season pass is now $50.

So if you go twice or more its well worth it!

Even though I got mine for $40.

Sorry I wasn't a good friend like my friends and told you to buy it sooner :/

Mom of the Year #4

So Ive been in the clear for a while.
Had to space things out a bit so you wouldn't start questioning my mommy skills,
but sometimes its inevitable.

Landon aka Mr. Independent, likes to get in the car "BY MYSELF!"
So to save time,
I open his door while he climbs in and puts his straps around him,
I go around and put Gavin in
and come back and buckle Landon in.
Yes, its a process.

So the other day we went to visit my parents in Rancho.
We had a great time as always.
I pull into the garage
and when I open Landon's door he is out of his carseat getting toys on the ground.

Yep, this mom (thumbs pointing to myself), forgot to do the last step of buckling that little boy in his carseat while I drove over 30 mins home.
Awesome! Another Mom-of-the-Year moment.

Perfect Family Days

We have these a lot.

Today after breakfast we asked Landon what he wanted to do today.

After his usual "go to (insert his favs here) house,"

he said, "go to the library."

Nice.

It was the perfect weather for a bike ride to the library.

At the library we played games on the computer..

even Gavin was into it.

Landon's first book request was of course Spiderman. We read through books, looked through the used books and movies for sale, which Matt had to get a few and then headed to cold stone to get Landon and Gavin a treat.Landon chose vanilla on an ice cream cone.Matt took a detour on our bike ride to Ross and bought the kids a spiderman slip and slide that they got to play with after naptime. We had dinner, the perfect summertime dinner.

BBQ chicken, watermelon and corn on the cob.

This and the dirt of the day required a bath.

The boys played and had fun.

Landon got to choose what movie we would watch from the 2 little finds that Matt got at the Library earlier.

Landon chose Hercules.

And yes we still have a VCR on hand for perfect $.50 little treasures like today.

So we popped some popcorn and cuddled on the couch to end our perfect day together.

I wonder what Landon will choose to do tomorrow and what adventure it will take us on.

Breakfast in bed is overrated

My man is better than yours..

Im just sayin'..

That would have been my title,

but you probably wouldn't have read this

sooo

I chose something less threatening,

yet still true.

Cause who likes to eat in there bed?

The idea is nice,

but food and drinks where you lay your head

or..

do other stuff..

is not a good match..

on the other hand,

if you choose the right "food"

with the "other stuff..."

uh..

nevermind..

OKAY

This morning I woke up to feed Gavin at 6 and then put him back down.

Landon woke up around 8 and my husband told me to sleep in cause he wanted to go to the store anyway.

YAHOO!

So I don't wake up until 9:30,

that's when Gavin woke up for the day.

I come out to the kitchen to find Matt dicing, mixing, and roasting veggies.

He's making a special breakfast for us.

A Roasted Veggie Frittata

Yep, my man is better than yours!

It was DELICIOUS!

AND on top of that he did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen when he was finished.

It's things like these when I least expect it that let me know how loved I am.

And I hope he knows how loved he is.

Roasted Veggie Fritatta: (In case your man wants to try)

3 Medium red bell peppers, seeded and cut into quarters

4 Garlic Cloves, unpeeled

2 Large zucchini, cut into 3.5 inch strips

1 medium onion, cut into 1/2 inch slices

1 Tbsp Olive oil

4 Eggs plus 6 egg whites

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1/3 cup finely shredded parmesean cheese

1. Preheat oven to 425*. Line the bottoms of 2 baking sheets with foil and cooking spray.

2. Place bell pepper and garlic on one pan, and zucchini and onion on the other. Brush vegetables with oil. Roast zucchini and onion on lowest rack and bell pepper and garlic on center rack ofoven for 15 minutes. Remove zucchini and onion from oven and move the bel pepper tray to bottom rack for about 10 more mins. Remove from oven and let stand about 5 mins. Remove skin from bell pepper and garlic. Coarsely chop veggies and place in a large bowl. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon salt.

3. Reduce oven temp to 350*. Coat a 9-by-1.5inch round cake pan with cooking spray. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and egg whites, remaining salt and cayenne pepper. Stir egg mixture into veggie mixture; stir in parmesean cheese. Pour mixture into cakepan.

4. Bake uncovered, 45-50 minutes or until center is set. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes before serving.

You won't regret it. :)

Days like these

Even days that have no plans

no agenda

no errands

that feel like they could drag..

i am reminded how fortunate i am.

how lucky my kids are.

I got up this morning and had no time line.

I knew I would go to the gym like we do most mornings.

So after our breakfast, we got dressed and headed out.

We met our friends there.

My workout buddy.

Landon and Gavin's play buddies.

I worked hard.

The boys played hard.

We went home, ate a quick lunch and headed to the waterpark

to meet the friends again.

A few slides and a bunch of laps in the lazy river and Landon says,

"Im sleepy, I want to go home."

Good thing we invested in some season passes..

if you want to go home after an hour Im all for it.

We stopped to play on the inflatable jumpers on the way out..

we have no appointment to make.

we can take our time.

I head home.

Both boys nap.

I clean.

Got a call from the MIL. :)

Then talked to Natalee.. of course.

Boys wake up.

We eat dinner.

Make plans to meet the friends at the park.

Get some Frozen Yogurt.

Bath.

Bed.

There were some minor meltdowns and timeouts along the way,

but at the end of the night,

when the babies eyes are closed

and i look through the pics that ive taken from the day

i realize

how lucky i am.

how much the boys bring to my world.

how they make a seemingly uneventful day into

days like these.

Peanut

Sugar

LadyBug

Snuggles

Sweet Pea

Turbo

Monkey

Cricket

Chipmunk

Chicky

Goose

and so on

because of the way they look or act.

WELL...

if we did that with Gavin we might end up calling him

Cockatoo or Cock or Cocky.

Blue. It's Consuming.

Our days are blue.

it doesn't matter.

theres no preference.

its all fun.

My boys are fishies.

They live in the blue.
